The calculator labels your generation based on widely cited demographic boundaries: Greatest Generation (before 1928), Silent Generation (1928-1945), Baby Boomers (1946-1964), Generation X (1965-1980), Millennials (1981-1996), Generation Z (1997-2012), and Generation Alpha (2013 onward). These ranges align with definitions from the Pew Research Center. The calculator also displays your Western zodiac sign and Chinese zodiac animal alongside the generation label.

The fun facts use well-established medical averages: approximately 72 heartbeats per minute and 16 breaths per minute at rest. These averages are multiplied by the exact number of minutes you have been alive to produce the totals. Individual variation means your actual counts will differ, but the figures provide a fascinating sense of scale. Leap year counts are precise because they are calculated day-by-day using calendar rules rather than averages.

The calculator uses the Western international age system (starting at 0 at birth, incrementing on each birthday), which is the standard for legal, medical, and administrative contexts worldwide. However, for official legal purposes you should always verify with the relevant authority, as some jurisdictions have specific rules about when age legally changes.
